Survey of Awareness and Utilization of the Facilities Available to the Blind and Orthopaedically Handicapped Students Studying in Colleges of Bombay City (1976) by Vadhyar, Shanta. This is a study of financial and other facilities available to blind and handicapped students, and how far the students and the college authorities are conscious of and utilize such facilities.

The Programme of Deputing Indian Teachers of the Blind for the Perkins Teacher Training Course in USA: a Follow-up Study (1977). The   study   examines  various  aspects of NAB’s programme of sending  teachers of  the  blind  for  overseas  training  to  Perkins School for the Blind (USA).

Bharati Braille Code for Mathematics (1978). The NAB Education Committee in collaboration with LBMRC prepared the Braille Code for Mathematics which was published in print and Braille.  This Code is suitable for Mathematics and Science students up to Grade X.  This work subsequently became the basis for Braille Mathematics Code for India developed by the National Institute for the Visually Handicapped (Dehra Dun) in collaboration with the UNICEF.

Study of Techniques of Introducing Braille and Braille Reading (1978). This is a study (based mainly on the All India Braille Reading Competition held in 1975) of the techniques used by good Braille readers.  It documents norms for good and fast Braille reading besides providing guidelines to teachers.

Vithoba Paknikar Performance Tests for the Blind (1979). This is the first ever intelligence test developed in India for testing and grading intelligence of the blind. Devised by late Prof. K. K. Paknikar of Pune, the test material is in a compact kit form. LBMRC sponsored publishing the test besides conducting a workshop for training educators and counselors in administering the test. Available with NAB Dept. of Education.
A Catalogue of Non-medical Research on Blindness in India (1978).This publication documents 79 surveys, reports and research studies published in India. Photocopy on request.
A Pilot Survey  of the Blind Population in One Block of Ahmednagar District in Rural Maharashtra (1981).This study of incidence and prevalence of blindness was carried out by the LBMRC with the help of the Ahmednagar Zilla Parishad.

Braille   Code   of    Abbreviations   and    Contractions for the Marathi Language (1985). This is a study of the commonly occurring words in the language at high school level.  Based on this study, a systematic Code of Braille signs has been evolved.  Th Code has been recognized by the Government of Maharashtra.

LBMRC Research Newsletter. The Centre published for over a decade this quarterly newsletter in English with a view to disseminate research news in the field of blindness/blind welfare in India and abroad.  This periodical has since been merged with NAB’s official publication "Blind Welfare".

Development of Standard White Cane for the Rural Blind: The Saathee Cane (1992). The study was undertaken for developing a Standard White Cane for the Rural Blind, as very little attention had been paid to the special needs of blind people living in rural areas.  The project was funded by the Ministry of Welfare, Government of India.

Study of NAB Community Based Rehabilitation Programme for the Rural Blind (1999). NAB LBMRC carried out a study of the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Programme for the blind implemented by the NAB Rural Activities Committee. The study was undertaken in eight States covering 15 CBR Programmes.  The project aimed at studying, fine-tuning the Programme, and making recommendations for its strengthening. Indian Guide to Aids and Appliances for the Blind (2000) - is the third edition of the publication previously brought out in the years 1986 and 1991.  This book has around 449 product entries. For free distribution.
Study of NAB’s Institution-Based Urban Rehabilitation Programme 2003. Study of NAB’s Institution Based Urban Rehabilitation Programme is a study of NAB’s Department of Rehabilitation (DOR). The objectives of the study were to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the training programme run by DOR, as well as the opportunities for strengthening the program and the threats (problems) that needed to be addressed for introducing changes in the system. The study makes recommendations vis-à-vis syllabus, teaching methods, and fine-tuning the programme. Photocopy on request.
